NASSL and THE HOUSE OF RADHA Joining Forces to Enhance Animal Welfare and Student Engagement

In the world of animal welfare, few organisations shine as brightly as the National Animal Sanctuaries Support League (NASSL). Founded in 1993 by Ray Mackinlay and Pauline Wilson, NASSL was created with a heartfelt commitment to protect and care for animals in need. Following Ray's passing in 2019, Pauline carried on his legacy, supported by a dedicated team of trustees and volunteers, to instil a culture of compassion for animals throughout the community.

NASSL has built a strong reputation as a trusted charity based in County Durham, known for its unwavering non-destruction policy. Serving a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, and rodents, NASSL also provides critical temporary care for pets in crisis. They work closely with women’s refuges and social services to ensure that neither animals nor people are left behind in difficult situations.

Bridging Education and Compassion: A New Collaboration with THE HOUSE OF RADHA

In an exciting new initiative, NASSL has joined forces with THE HOUSE OF RADHA. This collaboration paves the way for meaningful opportunities for students enrolled in Further Education (FE) and Higher Education (HE) programs.

The partnership aims to provide students with both remote and in-person internships. By doing so, NASSL and THE HOUSE OF RADHA offer real-world experience that positively impacts an essential cause. Internships will cover creative fields such as design and content creation, business disciplines like marketing and operations.

The Impact on Students

This initiative encourages students to grow personally and professionally, motivating them to become advocates for animals in need. Students receive mentorship from professionals in a supportive, creative environment. This helps them build confidence and equips them with the tools to excel in their future careers.

How to Get Involved

Whether you are a student seeking hands-on experience or an animal lover eager to volunteer, NASSL offers many ways to participate.

For students after internships, this is an excellent chance to engage with real-world challenges while making a genuine difference. Internship roles will enhance personal skills and career readiness while making a significant impact on the welfare of animals in the community. The range of creative and business disciplines assures that there is a position suitable for anyone interested in supporting this important mission.

Volunteers play a vital role in NASSL's operations. By providing support in areas such as animal care and administrative tasks, volunteers become part of a community that is devoted to animal welfare. Joining the NASSL family allows you to work alongside like-minded individuals who share your passion for helping animals.

If time investment isn't possible, consider other ways to contribute. Sponsoring an animal or making a monetary donation to NASSL can have a big impact. Every contribution helps provide shelter and care for animals in need. For instance, a donation of just £10 can provide a week’s supply of food for a rescued dog.
