I would definitely recommend THE HOUSE OF RADHA to others. I love the brand and will continue to support them

I found it valuable working in a diverse team. Every person in the team I interacted with were friendly and helpful and the brand has shown me how important having a diverse team within the workplace is.

I had the opportunity to develop new skills, and I was supported when trying out new things

I developed my existing skills such as editing, graphic and video design, blog writing, managing a team and creating social media content. I have learned lots about the fashion industry

I really enjoyed being part of the placement programme

I found it extremely helpful and I have gained insight on the fashion industry, as well as experience working in a social media based role. I found the team very friendly and helpful, and Radha especially was extremely welcoming and patient

TESTIMONIALS

GAIN REAL INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

I feel proud and lucky to have had the opportunity to work in a diverse team

Grace Abdel-Moneim

Sustainability Assistant, Postgraduate

MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY

I have become more organised as I have had to manage my placement, work, and university at the same time. It has also improved my creativity, through creating social media posts and website ideas, and with this my research skills have become stronger, especially working towards deadlines each week

Radha was great to work with, I feel it has taught me a lot about the industry and taking direction”

I would recommend THOR to others, both as a placement and also as a brand, because the values that it holds align with all the changes that need to be made for the fashion industry to continue. There are being sustainable, ethical and diverse, whilst encouraging other artistic forms like music and art. I really feel as though Radha wanted to help and benefit my studies, not just me help in the brand

“I would say that a placement is a great opportunity to gain valuable knowledge, skills and experience that can support your future careers”

I feel working within a diverse team of students provided me the opportunity to network and learn about different methods of approaching / tackling tasks.

I feel it was nice to work remotely in my own space and be creative. It became my normal after the pandemic

I found this placement really helpful in the way of developing my skills, but also for me to see where I need to improve

Lucia Cuprova

Never give up looking for that right opportunity and placement, because it will come, trust me!  When you get that opportunity grab it and get the most out of the experience, because it can help you in your future career goals

The opportunity to develop your creativity was brilliant and I felt very supported”

It does not happen very often that your supervisor cares so much for your well-being and that you feel comfortable with anything you work on

“Students looking for a welcoming and positive experience of the fashion industry, THE HOUSE OF RADHA is great!

It has helped me realise the importance of time keeping and organising myself to complete weekly tasks

It has been a very welcoming experience, allowing me to discover first hand about the fashion industry. I have really enjoyed the range of work that I have been given to do, helping me to be more prepared and feel more confident for my final year, as well as improving my creative skills

It has still been exciting to meet different people and everyone has been friendly and passionate which is inspiring and fun to be part of

I could work in my own time and it cut travel costs and time from my day. I have been able to get my name out there through the writing of blogs and an article. It has helped me realise that being able to turn my hand to any aspect of a brand is key to being successful

“Don’t be anxious in starting a placement since its part of the learning experience. Don’t be afraid to seek help or ask questions since people are willing to answer. Apply and try different things until you have enough confidence to say you enjoy what you do.

I found it to be rewarding and getting an insight on the pace of work on how things operate between you and the designer when creating designs. It was also interesting to see how the fashion side of designing works and learn how that influences designs

I’ve gained the skill to be more confident in sharing my ideas and designs through this journey..

Cultures and Values matter

Mariam Khan

UNIVERSITY OF GLASGOW

Working for THE HOUSE OF RADHA was interesting and allowed me to learn a lot about many different complexities of marketing. It has been a unique experience as normally a lot of fashion spaces are dominated mostly by British people. It has given me an insight into different cultures and values

“This can be a perfect chance to grow your network”

Working remotely has taught me how to manage my time effectively and keep up to date with completing tasks assigned to me. The flexibility is definitely useful, and the accessibility of the internet and online presence is a plus.

The experience was enlightening as it helped me explore what is required in undertaking marketing online for businesses

Getting practice with real life work and projects helps prepare you for life after uni and makes you even more desirable to employers

MANCHESTER METROPOLITAN UNIVERSITY,

Radha works with you to try and build upon any skills/experience that you are lacking in. She also listens to what you have to say, not just in terms of the work you are presenting but in the opinions you have about things, like sustainability.

I would recommend THOR as a place to have a placement/gain some industry experience

I would recommend this opportunity to others who are looking to gain experience in industry as Radha looks to help progress you as a person, helping you to develop skills and experience in the areas you feel are needed. She sets an appropriate amount of work for the time that has been agreed, having realistic expectations of what you can achieve in the week

I was able to apply academics and theory that I’ve learnt to real work

Ryan Fellman, Social Media and Marketing Assistant, Undergraduate NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY
