Eccentric, deep and honest, Chinese-British vocalist, songwriter, and producer Fifi Rong brings pure emotional intimacy and open vulnerability into her distinctive sonic vision, subtly nuanced with a flair of her Chinese heritage. Through her songs she blends Pop, Alt R&B, Electronica, Trip hop, Soundscape and UK Bass Music with sensual and melancholic vocals, bringing her into an elite league of paradigm-pushing, Avant-Pop artists.
Fifi has collaborated with a plethora of artists including Tricky, Yello on their albums 'Toy' and 'Point', and most notably grime artist Skepta, on his UK No.2, Mercury Prize winning album 'Konnichiwa', which Complex magazine cites as being “One of the strongest album openers in British music history”.
As a result of her collaborations along with her own work, Fifi Rong has received support from The Guardian, The Times, NME, FACT Mag, The Irish Times, The Fader, Dancing Astronaut, Earmilk, CLASH Magazine, Complex, Crack Magazine and The Line of Best Fit to name a few. The support for Fifi Rong continues across the airwaves, with radio play on BBC Radio 1, BBC Radio 1 Xtra, BBC Radio 6’s Tom Robinson and NPR.
Fifi's new solo album 'There Is A Funeral In My Heart For Every Man I Loved', a record that looks to explore the deeper tropes of the human condition through a memoir of unrequited love stories, is scheduled to be released in Autumn 2021.
